CBO: Republican Jobs Programs Ain’t Jobs Programs
But we already knew that, didn’t we? Here’s the graphic from the CBO report that’s been making the rounds today:
But this doesn’t show which proposals are from which side of the aisle. Same data, color-coded (blue for the Democrats’ proposals, red for the Republicans’, and purple for things that cut across party lines (please speak up in the comments if you think I’ve got any of this wrong):
Two things to draw from this:
- The Republicans don’t think there’s much the government can do to help create jobs, and the CBO says the things Republicans think can help create jobs don’t actually do much.
- The CBO says that the most effective Republican proposal would have about the same impact as the least effective Democratic proposal.
